Fruveju Juice 1 Day Cleanse
The Fruveju Explore Cleanse
I love leading a heathy, active lifestyle and am always on the look out for the next superfood to try or the newest fitness crave to incorporate into my gym sessions. So when Fruveju approached me about trying one of their juice cleanse programmes I was keen to give it a go and opted for the 1 day cleanse programme which was delivered promptly to my place of work the following day (complete with snazzy cooler bag to keep the juices fresh).
Fruveju offer three cleansing programmes, 1, 3 or 5 day, each coming with six juices per day to enjoy at set times from 8am to 7pm. Each juice is 500ml and numbered in the order that Fruveju recommend you ingest them to optimise the absorption and digestion of nutrients. They say that you shouldn't feel the need to eat during the cleanse but are welcome to drink as much water and herbal tea along the day to accompany your programme. Fruveju juices flood the body and cells with vitamins and minerals that gently cleanse and heal the body without the harsh detox symptoms associated with other cleanses, pills or powders on the market. All the juices are delivered to you in their rawest state - unprocessed, organic and pressed fresh every day. I undertook the Explore cleanse last week which consisted of six juices throughout the day and is designed as a great yet gentle introduction to those who want to give juice cleansing ago and maybe kick start a healthier regime. All the juices were pleasant enough to drink with some being slightly tastier than others! The fruity ones were my favourite, the pure green ones were bearable but the lemon and cayenne pepper is one more for an acquired taste!
During the cleanse I didn't feel particularly hungry or suffer from any side effects apart from feeling slightly less energised than normal. I did feel extremely virtuous and thought it was a good way to start the week after an indulgent weekend. I think the idea of doing a 1 day cleanse is great as it resets any bad eating habits, kick starts a healthier outlook and eliminates those naughty cravings but after then I believe a healthy lifestyle and a sensible eating plan including fresh juices or smoothies is the best way forward. I would definitely recommend trying Fruveju if you are new to juicing and fancy giving the programme a go but it is quite an expensive investment so if it is your thing then you may be best to invest in your own juicer and get juicing at home! Rob and I tend to do this every weekend and love discovering new recipes and ingredients - our current favourite is apple, carrot and ginger. :)
What are your thoughts of juice cleansing? Would you give this programme a go?
