Tom Ford Lip Color, Nude Vanille £36
available from Selfridges
Can you believe that until a week or so ago, Tom Ford and myself had never been united. Oh yes I had admired what he had to offer from afar but never made that commitment to have a piece of him in my makeup collection. That all changed over Christmas when a very astute boyfriend presented me with this lip colour in Nude Vanille, and it was everything I had hoped for and more. The consistency and texture is creamy and smooth with that sweet, vanilla scent that is reminiscent of every single MAC lipstick and gloss.
Nude Vanille is a fleshy-nude shade, warmed up with a soft pink/beige undertone that makes it a lovely, wearable shade - on its own or under a pale pink gloss. The whole product screams luxury with its chunky black and gold packaging and the infamous TF lettering embossed on the lipstick. But you know what, even I will admit that the price is crazy money for a lipstick and you wouldn't be hard pushed to find a similar shade at a whisker of the price from the likes of YSL and Estee Lauder. But it was a real treat to unwrap this beauty on Christmas Day and I believe everyone needs a bit of Tom Ford in their makeup collection.
