Cocosa Sale - Nina Campbell travel cases

nina campbell vanity cases

It became apparent to me whilst frantically packing for my Spanish holiday that I do not have enough cute wash bags! Makeup bags yes, but sizeable wash bags to encompass all my bathroom necessities, no. I ended up having to divide all my paraphernalia across several separate bags which then played havoc with my so-called streamline packing!

These darling, heart-patterned wash bags from Nina Campbell are currently on sale at and would make the perfect travel accompaniment - ideal for a weekend break or an exotic trip. Nina Campbell, the famous and highly-respected interior designer, has been creating her gorgeous and stylish designs for over thirty years now. Working on a residential and commercial level, she has been filling homes and stores with a mix traditional and contemporary designs, always unmistakably elegant and with a rich colour palette. These wash bags are not only really pretty, but incredibly practical too. Their soft, quilted cotton fabric makes them brilliantly squishy and versatile, as well as being machine washable so you don't need to fret over any slight spillages.

Cocosa, being the hot spot for discounted luxury items, are selling a range of Nina Campbell travel vanity cases at some amazing reduced prices. The large wash bag for example was £30, now £18 and the smaller bag is £12 from £20. We may not be able to hang her curtains or lounge on her sofas, but maybe we could have a small piece of the Nina Campbell luxury with these vanity cases.

Do let me know if you take advantage of the Cocosa sale!

holiday essentials: beautifying oil

The Body Shop Coconut Beautifying Oil
The Body Shop Coconut Beautifying Oil

The Body Shop Coconut Beautifying Oil* - £9

There is nothing that screams holiday more than the scent of coconuts. Whether it is the suncream or the sweet scent of your second pina colada of the day, the lush smell of coconuts is the epitome of sunshine and tropical paradise. The Body Shop beautifying oil is a lovely versatile product that can be used on body, face and hair. It is a dry oil made with a lightweight blend of nut oils which gives your skin instant hydration and a gorgeous, shimmery finish.

This was one of the first products I packed whilst whittling down my brimming bounty of beauty items to take away with me. I find it works best when applied to damp skin after a bath or shower. It soaks in beautifully leaving little residue, conditions the skin and leaves it smelling truly tropical. On the skin I really like this product, but found it wasn't as effective when used on my hair. I felt it was a little heavy and cloying, and didn't do much for the condition or feel it, so I certainly won't be replacing my Moroccan Oil anytime soon. But my skin certainly loves this product and the natural coconut scent will continue to bring sunshine into my bathroom long after the holiday is over!

holiday essentials: lip balms

best of the balms
best of the balms
best of the balms

1. Carmex Classic moisturising lip balm   2. Rodial Glam Balm LIP*   3. Figs & Rouge balm (Peppermint and Tea tree)*

My lips really suffer during hot weather. They become easily dry and dehydrated and after a day in the sun, I seek salvation from some of my favourite lip balms. During the day, whilst I catch the rays on the beach, I usually protect my lips with Nivea Sun Lip Protect which is brilliant at stopping your lips burning. But once I am back in the shade or wanting to give my lips an overnight treatment, then these are three of my favourite balms.

Carmex is a classic and does exactly what it says on the tin. It moisturises and relieves chapped lips, leaving them smooth and supple in the morning. Rodial Glam Balm LIP is definitely the elite of lip balms. It smells of roses, has a pretty pink tinge and is wonderfully thick and luscious. It is super moisturising whilst giving your lips a rich glossy layer that slowly sinks in, leaving them soft and plumped. Figs & Rouge balm is a brilliant balm to have on the go and a real favourite of mine. The vintage-inspired tin is adorable and the peppermint-laced balm is gorgeous and tingly all at the same time! It sinks into the lips quickly and is also ideal to use on dry skin and cuticles.

What's your favourite lip balm?

I have faith that these polishes will make my nails look perfectly summery and colourful, poolside and beyond. :)

Revlon Colorburst Lip Butter* in Creme Brulee, £7.99

Lip butters, that wondrous hybrid between lipstick and lip balm, are the perfect product if you are after a slick of colour with a lustrous finish. Ever since Revlon launched their range of 14 lip butters, stock levels have been depleted as we all rushed out to satiate our sweet cravings! I think they are a lovely product - gliding onto your lips with gorgeous hint of colour and a soft shine.

revlon lip butter - creme brulee

Creme Brulee is a warm nude with a subtle peach shimmer running through it. The shimmer isn't chunky or gritty at all, meaning Creme Brulee maintains the product's trademark buttery-soft texture and glossy finish. I think it is a very wearable nude, airing on the right side of a warm-toned brown to avoid that deathly look to the lips.

If you fancy indulging in some of Revlon's lip butters then you will be pleased to hear that they are giving away 100 lip butters every day to their Facebook fans. Take a step back in time and visit their old-fashioned sweet shop, the Sweet Boutique, and submit your details to win. Open for business from Monday to Friday, 8am to 11pm, this giveaway finishes on 26th June with the culmination of a 3-day prize draw being launched, seeing one lucky fan winning the complete lip butter collection!

So, are you a lip butter lover? Would Creme Brulee be your perfect nude?

Cocosa Sale - Compagnie de Provence

Compagnie De Provence - Cocosa
Compagnie De Provence - Cocosa
Compagnie De Provence - Cocosa

There are many lovely things that I have France to thank for; champagne, camenbert and Sephora to name but a few. Well now I can safely say that I am adding Compagnie de Provence to that list, with their unmistakable range of beauty and home products. Inspired by the Provence region of France and the clashing contrasts that are found there, Compagnie de Provence is an originally heritage brand that is now moving in contemporary ways to bring us a harmony between clean graphic design and the purest of nature. They currently have several lines within their collection, all boasting natural ingredients and fragrances, that individually aspire to a specific state of mind or desire.

The limited edition Graffiti range from Compagnie de Provence sees a collaboration with Paris-born graffiti artist iLK and is a celebration of Marseilles' two extremities. The two liquid soaps, Heaven and Hell, symbolise the two faces of the city - the urban hub verses the serenity of the Mediterranean Sea. Both liquid soaps (which happen to smell amazing) are incased in a shapely, 500ml glass bottle, colourfully tagged with iLK's signature work.

These soaps are currently on sale at, a luxury-focused website that retails clothes and cosmetics in time-limited sales for fantastically low prices. Up to 90% off in some cases! It is definitely worth signing up (for free) and checking out the brands on offer. The Compagnie de Provence soaps for example are currently on sale for £10 (the original price being £17) and has a maximum sale discount of 67% off. I am honoured and excited to announce that I am an official Cocosa partner so over the next couple of months I am going to be bringing you a selection of articles focusing on the latest sale opportunities from Cocosa as well as current trends and exclusive interviews which I hope you will find enjoyable.

Let me know if you take advantage of the Compagnie de Provence sale!

Hat - H&M
Top* - Glamorous
Shorts - New Look
Wedges - Faith

As my summer holiday in Spain slowly approaches, I find myself buying more and more summer clothes and accessories in anticipation - even if they aren't that appropriate for the up and down weather we've been having here in England. Straw hat and knee length shorts have both been ticked off my list, as has a ridiculous quantity of bikinis. Glamorous continues to have some real cute pieces on their website and I love this simple, sky blue sleeveless top with its gold tipped collar. It is so light and breezy, it will be perfect to take on holiday with me. I am going away on Friday for a whole week in the Spanish sunshine with my lovely friend Linzi. We are staying at her family's holiday home just a short journey away from Murcia. We are hiring a car whilst we are over there and scarily, I am the designated driver! Having never driven abroad before I just hope I can remember my left from my right and master the roundabouts!

You have to excuse my hair in these pictures - the remnants of my latest pink dip dye is fading out and I don't want to redo it before I go away so I am having to endure that grotty, grey, in between stage for the time being before it fully fades!

I hope you are all well and had great weekends. I have had a great response to my giveaway already so thank you to everyone who has entered so far.

Bikinis - H&M

With only six days now until I fly off for a week in the Spanish sunshine, I desperately needed to boost my bikini quota and of course H&M was my first port of call. They have some really nice styles in at the moment, if you are prepared to rummage, and I like the fact they sell the tops and bottoms separately. I am very small on top but am certainly bigger from my waist downwards so I always need to pick up different sizes. I bought these three bikinis for just over £45, so an average of £15 per bikini, which I think is quite a bargain. I particularly love the metallic gold one - very Princess Leia and I am saving the hot pink one for the tail end of my holiday when it can accentuate my tan as much as possible!

Have you got a summer holidays planned? Where do you go for your bikini buying?

Garnier UltraLift Challenge

Garnier UltraLift Challenge

71% of consumers do not believe in anti-ageing. Are you one of those statistics? I have to say that I am very much on the fence and luckily have a few more years until I need to worry about that. Well Garnier set about to prove to those skeptics that anti-ageing skincare can make a real difference. You may remember last year they launched the Garnier UltraLift Challenge, asking women to test out the UltraLift day cream for 14 days and submit their results post trial. 80% noted a positive difference in the reduction of their wrinkles and nearly half said their wrinkles looked better by two grades or more on the Wrinkle Reader. (that's Garnier's very high-tech wrinkle-measuring device!)

Well on 11th June 2012, Garnier reopened its doors to the consumers and is offering a quarter of a million women a free 14 day sample kit to put the UltraLift day cream to the test. You will also be bestowed with your very own Wrinkle Reader so at the end of the trial you can measure the results and see if you notice a difference. You can sign up for the 14 day challenge right here.

So what's so great about this product? Well the UltraLift day cream is enriched with pro-retinol derived from nature. It boosts the skin with immediate hydration whilst giving it a smoother and younger look. It reduces the appearance of wrinkles, even deep ones, and leaves your skin noticeably firmer.

Davina is calling out for you and your wrinkles to take on the 14 day challenge!
Will you be signing up? Do let me know in the comments below and one lucky reader who comments will win a full sized set of Garnier UltraLift products!

YSL Le Teint Touche Eclat

Yves Saint Laurent Le Teint Touche Eclat foundation* £28

"Illuminating foundation, dimensional radiance, weightless perfection."

It is unbelievable to think that it was over twenty years ago that YSL launched Touche Eclat - the wonder product of the 90s that has led to cult-status and global adoration. With a quick click and a slick, Touche Eclat gives an illuminating result by enhancing the complexion with light. Twenty years on and YSL have transposed all the magic of that golden wand and channeled it into their newest foundation - Le Teint Touche Eclat. It has a unique formula that targets shadowy areas and defines contours. The foundation is free of opaque powders that tend to mask the face and create a diffused reflection, therefore giving you a light, weightless fluid that illuminates the face with a natural radiance. "A magic light infused within a weightless fluid." Instead of opaque powders, the clever ones at YSL have created a soft focus gel which forms a diffusing and translucent film on the skin, smoothing away imperfections without masking the purity of the skin.

Le Teint Touche Eclat comes in 22 different shades to hopefully suit all skin tones. They are divided up into three unique categories to help you find your perfect shade; rose, beige and gold. I was unsure what colour would be right for me so I punted for B30 and B40 and I have to say B40 is almost perfect for my NC25-30 skin tone. The formula is silky and blends easily onto the skin. It feels extremely light whilst still giving a good, medium coverage which could be built up if required. I love the translucent, silky nature of this foundation - it feels like it is complimenting not concealing the skin and the finish is a happy medium between matte and dewy. It does seem to give the complexion a healthy, brightening glow whilst evening out inconsistent skin tone. All in all, a very nice foundation if you are after a light texture with an illuminating finish. The packaging for the full-sized bottle is a lot more glamorous than the samples with YSL's iconic gold lid and lettering that screams luxury and finesse, along with a sleek pump dispenser.

Le Teint Touche Eclat launches exclusively in Brown Thomas and Selfridges on 28th June and then nationwide on 9th July. The foundation retails at £28 and if you are feeling really flush then you can get the accompanying YSL foundation brush for a cool £26!

Do you think this could be the new cult product from Yves Saint Laurent?

real techniques kabuki brush

Real Techniques kabuki brush*

And the award for the cutest makeup brush goes to...

I don't talk about my favourite makeup brushes enough on my blog, but I do have quite a collection and there are definitely a few firm favourites of mine that reap an unfair amount of use. The Real Techniques kabuki brush is one of these such brushes. Not only is it very cute, perfectly sized for popping in your make up bag and made from cruelty-free synthetic bristles but it unfolds giving it two unique uses. Firstly, it can be used closed as a kabuki for buffing in powder or precisely applying blushers with its soft tapered edge. Secondly it can be unfolded to create a wide spread brush, perfect for sweeping on bronzer, highlighting or contouring your cheekbones. I love a brush that is multi-purpose, not to mention ridiculously soft!

Real Techniques are a range of hi-tech makeup brushes created by Samantha Chapman, one half of the infamous Pixiwoo, designed to make creating that pixel-perfect look easier than ever. The brushes have recently been released in Boots, so if you are lucky you may be able to get your hands on them in your local store, but if not they are available to purchase online from Love Makeup.

Do you go crazy for kabukis? Have you tried any Real Techniques brushes?

Korres Paeonia,Vanilla and Amber Pear

Korres Eau de Toilette - Paeonia, Vanilla and Amber Pear*

A couple of months ago you may remember me raving about the Vanilla, Freesia and Lychee Eau de Toilette from Korres. I have fallen in love with quite a few products from Korres recently, in particular their yoghurt moisturising cream which has become a staple in my skincare routine. This love extends to their scents and I am yet to find one that disappoints. Through writing this blog I have discovered that I am no connoisseur when it comes to perfumes. Describing their scent and recognising their top and bottom notes is not my forte but I know what I like, and I love this Eau de Toilette from Korres. Slightly sweet, mildly floral and incredibly fruity, it is an easy, light perfume to wear day to day. I have never encountered a perfume with pear before, and I must confess that I can't depict the pear essence in this scent, but there is definitely a mellow fruitiness that runs through it. Look Fantastic describes this perfume as "succulent and floral, this sublime fragrance awakens the senses and induces dreams of romance." Whereas I can't really concur with the dreams of romance bit, I do think the rest of the description is pretty apt and encapsulates the beautiful aroma of this scent.

Have you tried any fragrances from Korres?

Benefit Sun Beam

Benefit Sun Beam* £18.50
available online

First came High Beam and then came Moon Beam, and now Sun Beam joins this illuminating line up of products from Benefit, ideal for enhancing and highlighting your complexion. The launch of this product couldn't be more timely as we are all crying out for a little sunshine in our life - and this really is liquid sunshine in a bottle. Sun Beam is a warm, bronzed-toned highlighter that gives you an instant golden radiance to the skin. It can be applied to the face on any area that would naturally catch the light - the cheekbones, cupid's bow, brow arch or bridge of your nose. Just blob a line of dots on the area you wish to highlight and then gently blend out with your fingers or a stippling brush. The consistency is dreamy and blends beautifully when applied over the top of foundation, however just like with any liquid, it doesn't work well over the top of powder and will go patchy. So embrace the dewiness and leave your face powder-free and sun-kissed.

benefit sun beam

I think this new golden bronze complexion highlighter from Benefit Cosmetics will suit most skin tones, as it is soft and subtle enough on fair skin but can easily be made brighter and more lustrous by applying it more generously on darker skin tones. On first impressions, it could be reckoned that Sun Beam is quite similar to Moon Beam, but the latter is a lot more iridescent with apricot/yellow tones to it. Sun Beam is more golden and bronzed, with a deeper colour payoff and laced with a warmer shimmer running through it.

I've been using this as part of my everyday makeup for the last couple of days now, fooling myself (and my face) that the sunshine is actually shining here in miserable ol' England. I have been embracing a more light, dewy face as of late and this liquid highlighter is just perfect to add radiance and luminosity to your makeup.

Are you a fan of the Benefit highlighters? Will you be sunning your face with Sun Beam this Summer?

On Bank Holiday Monday, Rob and I attended his cousin's wedding at a gorgeous, rural venue in Essex. Thankfully the weather was kind and everyone was able to partake in some outdoor photographs before sitting down for a delicious meal and series of tender and funny speeches. The bride has a slight love for sweets so they decided to add a personal touch and name the tables, and fill the favours, accordingly. Beats sugared almonds any day! I thought it was adorable that the top table was called the love hearts table.

It was such a perfect day and a rare chance for me to see Rob dressed up, all proper-like! I thought he looked very dapper with his little pocket handkerchief :)

Don't you just love a good wedding?

oh what a Lovely Day

Accessorize Lovely Day Palette
Accessorize Lovely Day Palette

Accessorize 'Lovely Day' Palette* - £8.95

Accessorize is a brand that I am very fond of. When I was 21, I landed my dream job working for Monsoon Accessorize head office in their merchandising department. I was based within the jewellery section and my day was filled with beads, bangles and excel spreadsheets. A dream for me! Since leaving, I have continued to watch Accessorize grow and grow and I am excited that they have now branched out and introduced their own makeup range. I don't think Accessorize will ever become the one-stop-shop for makeup and beauty items, but I have no doubt that their range of reasonably priced products will do really well. The beauty of Accessorize is that they capitalise on those one-off, last minute purchases that you can't help yourself picking up. You may go in for a new scarf, clutch bag or a pair of flip flops, and in variably you will also leave with a new keyring or a pack of cute stickers! I think their new makeup range will mirror these spontaneous purchases and also make for perfect gifts for friends and family as well.

Accessorize Lovely Day Palette
Accessorize Lovely Day Palette

Today I am featuring one of their two new eyeshadow palettes, 'Lovely Day', which is a neutral toned palette with a mix of 32 matte and shimmer powders. The other palette, 'You are Everything', is a combination of brighter tones, featuring cool blues and warm pinks. The packaging of this palette is very typically Accessorize and has a handy mirror and elasticated fastening to keep it compact and easy to transport. The shades are very complimentary and offer great pigmentation, so are a really fun way to add a sweep of colour instantly to your makeup look. With 32 individual shades for just £8.95, I think this is a brilliant palette and definitely worth checking out.

The new cosmetic collection from Accessorize also includes a range of individual baked eyeshadows (£2.95), bang-on-trend nail varnishes (£2.95), defining brow pencils (£2.95), a fibre lengthening mascara (£5.95), intense lip glosses (£3.95), matte finish lipsticks (£4.95) and a selection of three unique fragrances to tempt and enchant you (£9.99/£15). I have a few other products from the range to feature, so do let me know if you would like to see anything in particular?

Accessorize's makeup collection will be available to purchase from Accessorize and also in Superdrug stores nationwide from 6th June 2012.
Will you be checking it out?
