Mini break in Sweden

Last week my boyfriend Rob and I journeyed to the snowy shores of Sweden to visit Holly and Ben, two of our dearest friends. I met Holly nearly eight years ago when we were both working at a law firm in Essex. She was one of those people that I knew instantly would be a lifelong friend. Holly is the most incredible person - she is so lovely, sweet and sincere. She just makes me smile when I'm in her company and during the year or so we worked together, we bonded over endless cups of milky tea and mused about our future, like any earnest 18 year old does. We of course did the obligatory meeting of the other halves and it was obvious the boys would get on just fine with each other too! Ben is a fascinating person who "digs up rocks" for a living, hence how they ended up in Sweden, merely a chilly three hours drive from the Arctic Circle!

We ventured over to Skelleftea (she-left-te-o) in Sweden where they currently live for a little mini break, arriving late on Thursday night after a train and two plane journeys. Our weekend together was just amazing - snowy walks under cloudless skies, dazzling sunshine and food, so much food! Sweden certainly know how to do their desserts, so I felt more than at home, offering up a sugary array of cream-filled and chocolate-topped delights. Semla, as pictured above, is a traditional Swedish sweet - a cardamon-spiced bun generously filled with almond paste and whipped cream. Needless to say, it was crazily delicious. When we weren't eating, drinking or rubbing our swelling bellies, we went dog sledding with the most adorable procession of huskies, watched a captivating game of ice hockey and took to the slopes with our own makeshift sledges. The time went far too fast as it always does, but I was just so happy we were able to visit Holly and Ben in their snowy wonderland and experience this awesome place together.

Just a tip, you have your pics sized at 500px wide but when you upload them here you make them bigger which ends up distorting them a fair bit. You should make them the size that they are in the blog posts and they'd stay perfect quality then! :)

Hi! I don't normally comment but I do read your blog. You look so lovely in these posts- just like Rachel McAdams! I think the more natural lip makes you look a lot younger and beautiful!

If you right click it and click open image in new tab it's only 500px wide and in your posts you make them bigger which gives them a bit of an odd look.

I don't mean offence by it I just wondered why they were like that and now I know!

I probably suck at explain it. Bigger is better of course but idk how you would change it hmmm. Fail.

I am well, especially now I have a much lusted after new cam (same as yours)!
