Motto Monday

Tea really is the nectar of angels. I wish I could express the wonderment that is the humble cuppa, but the connotations of tea, and everything it stands for, are far too exuberant.
For me, tea punctuates my day. It rises with me in the morning, greets me at work whilst trawling through my emails, comforts me through the 3 o'clock slump and kisses my forehead goodnight as I slip into a slumber.
It always makes me chortle when you watch soaps and regardless of whatever devastating and life-destroying event may have just occurred, "let's put the kettle on" always seems to be the next logic step in regaining some sense of understanding and stability; echoing the cup of tea's almost medicinal qualities.
I'm a milk, no sugar kind of girl.

In other news, I have joined the masses and am running the daily gauntlet of sharpened elbows and unpredictable prams; I have commenced my Christmas shopping! Every year I confess to myself I will be organised and have everything wrapped up and smugly nestled under the tree by 1st December. Every year I fail. However, watching the hoards undertaking their Christmas shopping missions always saddens me slightly. I love Christmas as much as the next over-excitable soul, but sometimes the commercialism of the festival can just overwhelm me, and it makes me want to digress to a simpler and more peaceful time. I have very much been enjoying Kirstie's Homemade Christmas. I find it so sweet and humbling and I love the way she explores the crafty delights and inventive, rudimentary fashions to create some sincere and bespoke gifts this yuletide.

I'm not a big tea drinker but when I do have one I enjoy it. It is true about how every problem is resolved by starting with a cup of tea. Lovely post.

I'm not a huge fan of tea, I personally prefer an indulgent hot chocolate, but when I do drink tea for its' seeminly calming properties, I like two sugars and lots of milk! My Christmas shopping is so nearly done, I'm tackling the wrapping tomorrow and making my own gift tags (: xx

I watched two episodes of Kirsties homemade christmas last night :) it really made me contemplate 'could I'... for next year. Obv she had a whole load of help, but everything she made was so beautiful! Couldnt agree more with the comfort that a cup of tea brings ♥ really is such an integral part of my day to day life! :) xx

This is such a beautiful post, such inspiring words. I used to love tea, but it then started to make me ill, not realising i was lactose intolerant, and i dont like soya products or without milk.
Now im a 'green tea' kind of girl :) xx

I agree with you, christmas shopping tends to be very overwhelming at times, the simpler the better.

I used to be a coffee kind of girl but for two years now I just can't live without my cup of tea, and it makes me feel a bit british :) hehe.

Can I ask you what is your favourite kind of tea? :)

tea does indeed solve everything, I think I rely on it way too much ahha, if I run out of teabags I am distraught. So sad. Elbows at dawn is the only thing I loathe about Christmas, plus all the adverts on repeat, if I see one more "Argos it" advert I may launch my tv at the wall xxx

You should try some Indian tea, that REALLY soothes all your problems away.

I had all my shopping done and wrapped last weekend..I was proper chilled out about it until last night when someone mentioned that it was the big day next Saturday..now I'm rushing around in a blind panic because I still have to get all the food in.

This post get two thumbs up from me. I'm a massive tea man, none of this coffee malarky. I usually drink normal tea with milk no sugar. Although I am quite keen on a peppermint to from time to time. I usually drink decafe though as I think I'm a bit sensitive to caffeine. Sounds a bit daft, I know, but i'd always be on edge if I drank a couple of cups.

I tend to have a cup in the morning then through out the day if I'm at home, especially working on my blog.

I've literally just finished writing a post on how to make xmas shopping easier. Luckily I've got like 3 presents left to get so touch wood I shouldn't have to hit any of the shops at their peak times.
